IGAD condemns Terrorist Attack in Mogadishu

Addis Ababa July 26/2019 The Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) condemned the terrorist attack in the Somali capital Mogadishu that left several people dead and wounded including the city mayor.

"IGAD condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attacks perpetrated by Al-Shabab against the Mayor's Office in Mogadishu on Wednesday, which left a number of innocent civilians dead and others wounded, including the city's Mayor," said in a statement issued on Thursday.

IGAD expressed deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and wishes speedy recovery to those wounded.

Moreover, it reiterated its support and solidarity with the people and government of Somalia as they continue to fight the scourge of terrorism and strive towards achieving lasting peace and stability.
