Thousands Participate in Grand African Run

Thousands of runners including world-renowned champions and Olympic medalists participated in the Grand African Run celebrating Ethiopian Day in Washington D.C on the 21st of July 2019.

Ethiopian Ambassador to the United States, Fitsum Arega and former legendary Athlete Derartu Tulu, started the competition where a number of top athletes embracing Assefa Mezgebu and Brehane Adere presided over the Great African Run.

Artists, religious leaders, athletics club members, and African Diaspora communities have also partaken in the run.

The event was organized by Nova Connections, under the auspices of the African Union Representational Mission to the United States in partnership with Ethiopian Embassy and Washington D.C Mayor Office on African Affairs.
