Addis Ababa University Graduates over 9,000 students

Addis Ababa July 13/2019 In a colorful ceremony held at the Millennium Hall today, Addis Ababa University graduated 9,637 students at PhD, graduate and first degree levels in the presence of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Speaking at the ceremony, Addis Ababa University President Tasew Woldehana said Addis

Ababa University has been discharging its responsibilities by producing professional work force at an average of 10,000 professionals every year.

According to him, the university is playing a significant role at national, regional and global levels.

He added that today’s graduates are the 69th round since the establishment of the university decades ago.

Addis Ababa University has also conferred Honorary Doctorate degrees upon Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, and Mufti Hajji Omer Idris, President of Islamic Affairs Supreme Council.

In the current academic year 120,000 students will graduate from 32 public universities across the country.
