CSOs Leaders to Confer with Top Government Officials

Addis Ababa July 4/2019 The Office of the Prime Minister disclosed today that leaders of civil society organizations are to confer with higher officials of the government tomorrow on range of national issues.

According to the Office, the role of civil society organizations in the development of democracy in Ethiopia and on a number of legal reforms conducted in the country are among the agenda set for the discussion.

Reports show that more than 3, 000 civil society organizations are currently registered and certified at the federal level.

The former proclamation that provided for the Establishment of Charities and Societies was replaced by Proclamation on the Establishment of Civil Society Organizations in April this year.
