Amhara Regional State Attorney-General Migbaru Kebede Passed Away

Addis Ababa June 24/2019 Attorney General of the Amhara Regional State, Migbaru Kebede, has passed away today after being hospitalized in Black Lion Referral hospital following the attack on top leadership of the region last Saturday.

The assault conspired and orchestrated by the former Peace and Security Head of the region, Brigadier General Asaminew Tsige, resulted in the tragic death of the region’s Chief Administrator, Ambachew Mekonnen and his Advisor Ezez Wase.

While Army Chief General, Seare Mekonnen, and his pal Major General, Gezaie Abera, were shot dead by his guard on the same day in an orchestrated attack associated with the “coup attempt” in Amhara Regional State.  

The House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) today has declared a day of nationwide mourning in connection with the assassination of officials.

The top officials of the Amhara Regional State were attacked when they were on a meeting in the city of Bahir Dar, while the Chief of Staff was at his house in Addis Ababa with his friend Brigadier General Gezaie. 

Federal Commission announced that instigators are being arrested and comprehensive investigation will continue until all perpetrators and accomplices of coup conspiracy are brought to justice.
