Ethiopia Successful in Anti-Doping Efforts

Addis Ababa June 12/2019 Ethiopia has registered significant results in the anti-doping efforts, Regional Anti-Doping Organizations (RADO) Africa Zone V said. 
Acting Chair of Africa Zone V RADO Board, Professor Ahmed Awad Elgamal said the development of Ethiopia in the area of anti-doping effort is significant. Its effort in creating doping free environment is significant.

The Acting Chair, who is in Addis Ababa for the Africa Zone V RADO Board meeting that started today, said Ethiopia is one of the "very important countries in the zone" in terms of development in the area.

“Regarding directing the efforts of the youth, Ethiopia is in a very advanced level which makes the country one of the important countries in our zone,” he noted. 

The Africa Zone V RADO Board meeting helps Ethiopia to share the country's experiences and learn from others, Prof. Aklilu Azazh, board chairperson of Ethiopia's Anti-Doping Organization.

He further said that the meeting also helps to evaluate activities being undertaken in collaboration by countries to fight the problem. 

The meeting focuses on sharing best practices among countries, evaluate anti-doping efforts of countries, and plan new strategies.

Ethiopia is among the six countries, which found the Africa Zone V RADO in 2005. Currently the Zone has 12 member countries.
