Implementation of Research Findings Depends on Willingness of Public Sector Leaders, Says University President

Addis Ababa  May 14/2019 The implementation of research findings mostly depends on the willingness of public sector leaders as there is no institutional sector to realize them, the Ethiopian Civil Service University President said.

ECSU President Fikre Desalegn noted the above at the opening of a two-day National Research Conference on Public Sector Transformation and Development that kicked off today.

“All universities give problem-solving research outputs to public service sectors. But there is no institutional structure to implement them. It only depends on the willingness of the public sector leaders,” Fikre stressed.

According to him, research findings have been disseminated to policy makers and respective sectors over the years  despite the low reception by the implementing bodies.

The president pointed out that “our ability to continue transforming public sector requires a proactive and collective response to the changing trend of public service organizations.” 

Some 56 studies will be presented at the national research conference underway at the Civil Service University.
