EU-Ethiopia Business Forum Aims to Intensify Trade, Investments

Addis Ababa May 7/2011 Ethiopian and European Union (EU) Business Forum, which aims to intensify trade and investment, will be held in Brussels next week, Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

Briefing journalists today, Spokesperson of the Ministry, Nebiyat Getachew said the forum, which will take place from May 14 to 15, 2019, is aimed at enhancing economic cooperation in trade and investment with EU countries.

The forum is also expected to boost strategic partnership between Ethiopia and the European Union, he added.

Ethiopian Diaspora and giant European companies who have engaged in trade and manufacturing sectors are expected to attend the forum, Spokesperson indicated.

Similarly, Ethiopia Partnership Forum (EPF) will take place in Washington D.C from May 15 to 16, 2019.

EPF is a U.S.-Ethiopia economic engagement platform to raise awareness of Ethiopia’s recent economic reforms and emerging business opportunities, and accelerate American investments to transform Ethiopia’s economy. 

According to Nebiyat, the partnership forum is organized by US State Department in cooperation with Ethiopian Embassy in the US to advertise Ethiopia's investment opportunities for American investors.

The EPF will bring together private sector leaders and policymakers from the U.S. and Ethiopia to envisage a new future of engagement between the two countries.

The Spokesperson pointed out that the EPF is expected to strengthen bilateral relations, strategic partnership as well as regional cooperation between the two countries.
