Addis Ababa March 11/2019 A conference organized to identify the technological gaps of various sectors in Ethiopia opened here today.
Opening the conference, Innovation and Technology Minister Getahun Mekuria said the Ethiopian diaspora would play crucial role in the technological transformation of the country as they have vast experience.
Pointing out that there are technological gaps that hinder efficiency the various sectors, the minister said the conference will help identify the gaps and forward recommendations to improve efficiency of the different sectors.
Co-organizer of the forum, Ethiopian Community Association of North America (ECANM), has brought eight Ethiopian experts based overseas to help assess the technological gaps.
Finance, education, healthcare, banking and insurance, diplomacy, water resource, information technology and justice are among the major areas of discussion, it was learned.
Stakeholders of various sectors are attending the five-day conference jointly organized by Ethiopian Community Association of North America (ECANM) and Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
