Saudi Arabia Pays in Compensation for Medical Error Injury

Addis Ababa May 25/2018The Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has paid 3 million Riyals in compensation for the family of Mohammed Abdul Aziz Yahya, who has been suffering from injury of a medical error in a Saudi hospital, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. Mohammed, who is 16, was admitted to a hospital in Jeddah for a minor inhalation problem in 2006 that left him paralyzed and lost his consciousness from a slipshod medical operation. The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia decided to pay the compensation upon the request made by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during his recent official visit to Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health have completed their preparations to repatriate Mohammed Abdulaziz over the next two weeks so that he can continue his medical treatment in his home country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs commends Nebiyu Sirak and citizens residing in Jeddah for their selfless support to claim justice for and on behalf of Mohammed Abdulaziz.
