WEF Kicks off at Davos, Switzerland

Addis Ababa January 22/2019 The World Economic Forum (EWF) kicks off today at Davos-Klosters, Switzerland to discuss on major global economic issues.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is currently in Davos, where he is scheduled to address global society leaders, at the World Economic Forum plenary session, on Ethiopia’s journey of change and renewal over the past ten months.

Global business and political leaders have annually headed to the small Swiss village to discuss the future of the global economy for the past 50 years.

The main theme of this year’s World Economic Forum (WEF) is “Globalization 4.0: Shaping a New Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”

The forum is expected to be in session up to January 25. More than 3,000 participants will take part on 350 forums that will deliberate on multiple socio-economic and technology issues of global significance.

Global leaders, corporate titans  and economists including Bill Gates of Microsoft, Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of IMF, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand, The Duke of Cambridge, and Prince William are amongst the partakers in the forum.
