Premier Abiy Meets with Italian PM Giuseppe Conte

Addis Ababa January 21/2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met with his Italian counterpart, Giuseppe Conte, in Rome today.

Premier Abiy also made a courtesy visit with President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella at Quirinal Palace.

Recounting the historical relationship between the two countries, the leaders discussed to enhance the existing cooperation in key social and economic areas of development.

President Mattarella praised the changes that are taking place in Ethiopia and its role in the process of integrating the Horn of Africa.

He was paid an official visit to Ethiopia on 15 March, 2016 while Prime Minister Conte made his visit on October 11, 2018.

Ethiopia and Italy has a long standing diplomatic relation, it was learned.
