Addis Ababa May 23/2018 Ethiopian Airlines announced that it will receive its 100th aircraft, a Boeing 787-900 on June 5, 2018. According to the statement of the airline, Ethiopian by then will operate one of the youngest and most modern 100 aircrafts, with an average age of less than five years. Ethiopian CEO Tewolde Gebremariam is quoted as saying that "this 100 milestone, which we have achieved ahead of our Vision 2015 targets, compels us to revise our plans with a view to phase in more and further expand our network so as to meet the growing travel needs of our continent and support its economic development and integration by facilitating the flow of investment, trade and tourism. Speaking of the planned delivery, the CEO added that it is an immense honor for all at Ethiopian to reach the milestone of 100th aircraft. The milestone, he noted, is a continuation of the historical aviation leadership role of Ethiopian in Africa and a testimony of the successful implementation of its fast, profitable and sustainable growth plan.
