Agency Signs MoU to Execute e-GP

Addis Ababa October 15/2018 The Federal Public Procurement and Property Administration Agency (FPPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ministry of Innovation and Technology that facilitate to implement electronic government procurement strategy. FPPA Director General, Marta Luwingi and Innovation and Technology Minister Getahun Mokria have signed the MoU here in Addis Ababa today. FPPA Director General, Marta Luwingi told ENA that the electronic government procurement helps reduce cost, time and corruption and facilitates transparency and quality in the services. “We identified eight institutions including innovation and technology, water and electric for pilot implementation of the e-GP starting from month ahead,” she stated. Innovation and Technology Minister, Getahun Makoria said the MoU will transfer FPPA manual services into online tendering processes. “The electronic government procurement helps reduce manual processes and over all service especially in tendering,” he pointed out. The home grown technology can be improved in case of any legal review in the procurement services, Getahun added. FPPA has given a half day workshop with concerned bodies on E-GP System Implementation Strategy and Road Map on 8 June 2018.
