PM to Inaugurate Dembi Dollo University Tomorrow

Addis Ababa  May 19/2018 Prime Minster Abiy Ahmed will inaugurate Dembi Dollo University, which is located in Oromia Regional State, tomorrow. University President Dalasa Bulcha told ENA that preparations are finalized for the inauguration of the university built to meet the demand of the community. The university has 35 departments and enrolled 1,500 students this academic year. According to Dalaasa, the university is striving to be centre of excellence in the transformation of the country. In addition, it will conduct research and community services that benefit residents of Dembi Dollo town and surrounding areas, the President added. Oromia Regional State Communication Bureau Head Negeri Lencho said the establishment of Dembi Dollo University has meaningful benefits in providing access for higher education to the people in the area in particular, and the country in general. Compared with other new universities, Dembi Dollo University is in a better position in terms of providing facilities for students, he added. The Bureau Head noted that this is the one of the ways the government addresses demands of the public. The construction of Dembi Dollo University started in 2016.
