Some Western, Arab Media Supporting TPLF: Middle East Affairs Expert

November 18 /2021 (ENA)  The current distractive activities of the media operating in the western and Arab countries is part of the conspiracy being orchestrated by some members of the international community to dismantle the unity of Ethiopia by supporting the terrorist TPLF and its allies, according to Jamal Bashir, Middle East Affairs expert.

In an exclusive interview with ENA, the expert stated that some western nations and countries in the Middle East are supporting the terrorist TPLF and its allies in various ways.

The international media in general and the Egyptian media in particular have been engaged in fueling the conflict in the country by spreading fabricated information about Ethiopia in support of the terrorist TPLF, Jemal said.

These media outlets are working tirelessly to deceive the world about the reality in Ethiopia with a view to weaken the government of the country by creating chaos and instability, he added.   

According to him, TPLF had been serving some foreign elements in the west and Arab countries during its rule in Ethiopia as the expense of the national interest of the country.  

“When the TPLF was in government power, it had served Ethiopia’s foreign enemies without conditions by endangering the national interest of the country.  This is one of the reasons that some of western nations and countries in the Middle East are supporting TPLF by several ways including spreading false information about Ethiopia to destabilize the security and stability in the country.”

Researcher and political analyst Muhammad al-Arousi stressed that the west are immensely using the media as a weapon to interfere in the affairs of other nations in order to guarantee their national interest.

The ongoing international media campaign against Ethiopia is part of this conspiracy, he added.

Jamal further said Ethiopians are currently expressing their strong readiness to defend and ensure the stability their country more than ever by ignoring the ongoing disinformation campaign.

Noting that all political pressures exerted by Western countries are linked to the GERD, he said it is obvious fact that the U.S is supporting Egypt in its effort to disrupt the realization of the project.
