For over a week, western media outlets are busy waging a futile media war on Ethiopia trying to deceive the world that terrorist TPLF and Shene forces have either encircled Addis Ababa or are even approaching the outskirts of the city. Although the city is safe and sound, the media outlets are fabricating false news that has no basis. The week long propaganda campaign focused on creating a false image of the country in a state of siege and that Addis Ababa is almost falling to the terrorist TPLF and its allies.

The truth on the ground vividly depicts that terrorist TPLF forces are fleeing from the battle field in a reverse gear and that they are evacuating most of the towns they have occupied in North and South Wollo and parts of Afar region.

Even from the professional perspective the media reports were not properly sourced and are based on “rumors” heard from unidentified sources and on speculations that “the National Defense force was not up to the challenge”. Again, the reality is that the defense forces of the country are swiftly moving forward to totally free the areas occupied by the terrorist forces in the shortest possible time.

As usual the international media sources have continued in their campaign of character assassination of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia who is elected by landslide public vote. They are trying to encourage embassies stationed in Addis Ababa to leave dreaming about a civil war in the city.

The biggest and the most frequent fake news on the situation in Ethiopia is coming from CNN which wrote on November 4, 2021 that says “Troops allied against Ethiopia's central government are on the outskirts of Addis Ababa, a diplomatic source told CNN Wednesday.”

Despite the fact that no terrorist forces have come close to Addis Ababa and in spite of the truth that the rag tag army is being totally crushed at the battle front the western media outlets led by CNN are attempting to sow panic and fear in a city that is at its most peaceful situation. It is almost more than a week since CNN has reported that the terrorist TPLF forces would be in Addis Ababa “ within hours” CNN is trying to compensate for the loss that terrorist TPLF has faced by broadcasting fake news that can never be verified.

These western media outlets have broadcasted a total of  72 news about Ethiopia in the past 4 days (CNN-21, BBC-13, Al-Jazeera-11, France 24–19, and AP-8.) They’ve also been attempting to falsely terrorize expats based in Addis to leave. Their ill intention is to create false narration and strong psychological instability in an attempt to dismantle our nation.

In an interview with ENA, foreign journalists who attended the mass rally staged in Addis Ababa in support of the ENDF had this to say:

The American journalist, Pole Anderson said some journalists are incapable of securing money by sticking on professionalism. Hence, he added that they opt to fake news by causing human and material damages.

Such media outlets don’t care about the safety of people, their development activities or other positive achievements but they just focus on bad events just to get money, he added.

Anderson further stated that Ethiopia has now been experiencing such challenges noting the recent fake news broadcasted by the international media outlets about the security situation in Addis Ababa.

Raymond Michilues for his part said the media report that he has been following was entirely different as he has himself witnessed the reality and noted “we have been visiting several places and enjoying peacefully in Addis Ababa.”

The Ugandan journalist Denis Duke said it is sad that media institutions now are disseminating fake news in order to get money. The news being reported by foreign media outlets about Ethiopia are different from what he has been observing in person.

"Most of foreign journalists are freelance journalists. They are paid as per their news stories. They look for stories that would enable them secure money. Hence, they report fake news in order to get good amount of money."

He further stressed the need to provide accurate information to the international community about the situation in a consistent manner so as to repel the impacts of fake news.

The other Ugandan journalist, Daniel Lutaaya said though there is conflict in the country, the problem is confined in limited areas as it has been reported by the international media.

The orchestra of western media is not limited only to mainstream sector but is also being fanned up in the social media. Twitter and Face book are also laboring from dawn to dusk to discourage Ethiopians from accenting the truth about the situation in the country by clamping down on their pages. It is sad to observe that professional journalism is dying in the west by falling prey to the dangerous goals of western powers that are busy working on destabilizing the country. These news outlets are working for a regime change in Ethiopia to meet the interests of western powers.

Whatsoever, Hoax news by the western media outlets cannot save terrorist TPLF from its doom and gloom.
