PM Abiy Appreciate China for Contribution in Ethiopia’s Dev’t

Addis Ababa September 03/2018 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed lauded China for its contribution in Ethiopia that led to the realization of mega project that add value to the development of the country. During his discussion with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in Beijing, Abiy mentioned some of the projects financed by the Chinese government as a success in the bilateral ties. Abiy said the Ethio-Djibouti railway, which links the capital Addis Ababa with the port of Djibouti, and the industrial parks are projects that China leaves its fingerprints in Ethiopia's development. Appreciating this strong contribution, Premier Abiy, who is in Beijing to attend the FOCAC Summit, has expressed Ethiopia's desire to consolidate this cooperation. Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang said for his part assured that the current cooperation between the two countries will continue to be strengthened. Following the discussion, the two sides have signed memorandum of understanding through their foreign and finance ministers. The agreement includes a 50 million Yuan for food assistance; support for public reform and bamboo training center; and deal to export beans to China.
