Regional States Donate 58 Million Birr, 3 Ambulances to People of Tigray

Addis Ababa March 26/2021 (ENA) The Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples, Somali, and Afar regional states have donated 58 million Birr and 3 ambulances to needy compatriots in Tigray region today.

SNNPR Deputy Chief Administrator, Ristu Yirdaw handed over 20 million Birr and 2 ambulances.

He said on the occasion that the support for the rehabilitation of the region will continue.

Somali Region Deputy Chief Administrator, Mustefe Mohammed also donated 20 million Birr.

According to him, the contribution is meant to express the love and respect the Somali people have for the people of Tigray. Realizing that their pain is also the pain of Ethiopians, all should consolidate their assistance, he added.

Handing over 18 million Birr and 1 ambulance assistance, Chief Administrator of Afar region Awol Arba noted that the people of Afar and Tigray have been working together and will continue to work together to solve security and infrastructure problems in the region.

Tigray Interim Administration CEO, Mulu Nega thanked the donors for their support and called on citizens of all regions to follow the example of the three regions.

Tigray Interim Administration Command Post Head, Lieutenant General Yohannes Gebre Meskel conveyed a message to all regions to understand the crisis in the region and work for peace and development.
