Addis Ababa to Host 1st Transport Investment Conference

Addis Ababa March 22/2021 (ENA) Ethiopian Transport Investment Conference will be kicked off next Wednesday in Addis Ababa, Minister of Transport disclosed.

The Minister, Dagmawit Mogus told journalists today that some 300 domestic and international investors including renowned international logistics and port service provider companies are expected to participate in the two days conference organized by the Ministry of Transport.

The participants will exchange views on how to work in partnership with the private sectors in the areas of various transport infrastructure projects including roads development, logistics, railways, and aviation, she said.

The conference is organized with a view to promote the sector's untapped investment opportunities and create a networking platform for potential foreign and local investors, she added.

Such opportunities are vital to strengthening the involvement of the private sector thereby ensuring the realization of efficient, reliable, safe, fairly accessible, and modern transport infrastructure and services that drive the economic growth and social interaction engine of our country, it was indicated.

According to her, investing more in the area of transport sector is a means to enhance the overall economic activities of the country including agriculture, manufacturing, tourism and mining.
