NEBE Trains 150 Election Supervisor Trainers, Targets to Reach 150,000 Supervisors Nationally

Addis Ababa March 9/2021 (ENA) Some 150 election supervisor trainers have received a two-day training that would eventually reach 150,000 election supervisors at the national level, according to the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE).

NEBE Training Coordinator, Seada Hassen told journalists that the training is part of the preparation to hold free, fair, and democratic election.

According to her, the Board has recruited more 150,000 election supervisors that supervise the election in all polling stations during the 6th General Election.  

These trainees at the first round will train more than 2,500 trainers in regions this coming Saturday and Sunday.

“The trainees who complete their present training today will train more than 2,500 election supervisors in regions; and the 2,500 supervisors will train more than 150,000 poll supervisors,” she explained.

Election supervisors will help voters to have accurate and reliable information about the election, give guidelines for candidates and facilitate the election.

Seada added that the supervisors training includes practical and theoretical lessons in election supervision and all supervisors are degree holders who are interest in supervising the election.
