Medalist Graduates from Various Universities Ready to Devotedly Serve Country

Addis Ababa July 25/2018 Recent medalist graduates from universities across the country say they are motivated and determined to devotedly serve the nation. Hosting outstanding graduates from public and private universities at the National Palace yesterday, President Mulatu Teshome discussed about how the graduates could enhance their role in nation building. The government, in addition to emphasizing access to quality education, has recently announced various programs to encourage outstanding graduates. The gold medalist from Admas University, Nuad Mohammed said “Prime Minister Abiy and President Mulatu Teshome gave us motivational speeches which help us to build self-confidence not only in academic issues but also in our livelihood.” Nuad expressed her hope that she will be part of a nationwide force to create synergy in the country’s development. “I believe that we would move this country to a better level by applying our knowledge. I am ready to contribute my level best to realize this.” The other graduate from Hawassa University, Habte Teferra said on his part the reception and advice offered to them is great and thanked Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for the initiative. Such opportunities help students to get exposure to various institutions that broaden their experiences and provide better world outlook that help them foster the nation's development program, he added. Habte pointed out that the reforms underway are inspiring to young graduates that could contribute their share to the process. He said: “I would exert all efforts to become a model for those who wish to pursue their career and become serve the people in their respective discipline.” The gold medalist from Adigrat University, Teklay Kidan said the occasion has provided the graduates with excellent opportunity to come together and get opportunity to share best experiences. He added that they had visited various government organizations and held talks with officials on the issues regarding the future of the country. Teklay noted that the government should continue similar events in the future. “I am ready to uplift my country to a higher level by serving it sincerely and devotedly”, he said. Masresha Zerihun from Wolayita University stated that they are all lucky to get memorable opportunity to discuss with the prime minister and the president of the country. A total of 400 outstanding university graduates from public and private universities across the country are currently visiting various national and international organizations in Addis Ababa.
