Ministry, AACSA Hold Workshop to Enrich Revised Draft Law

Addis Ababa December 25/2020 (ENA) A workshop that enriches the revised draft Chambers of Commerce and Sectoral Associations Establishment Proclamation was held here today. 

The workshop jointly organized by Ministry of Trade and Industry and Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACSA) aimed at enriching the revised draft proclamation with inputs from pertinent stakeholders.

Trade and Industry State Minister Eshete Asfaw said on the occasion the revised draft proclamation was prepared based on the ongoing reform in the country and other evolving dynamics in the sector to support the national strategy.

While revising the proclamation, the ministry bench marked experiences from different countries, including Germany, Russia and other African countries, he added.

The revised draft proclamation is prepared to solve problems and encourage the private sector that contributes to the country’s economic growth.

Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (AACCSA) President, Mesenbet Shenkutie said on her part the reform in Ethiopia has presented vast opportunities for the private sector at large and the associations in particular.

She stressed the need for revising the proclamation and enriching it with the pertinent stakeholders to create conducive legal environment for member companies to flourish.

The Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations has 20,000 members.
