Court Grants Police 13 more Days for Investigation on Addisalem Balema

Addis Ababa December 25/2020 (ENA) The Federal First Instance Court on Thursday has granted police 13 additional days for further investigating on the alleged criminal Addisalem Balema.

Addisalem Balema, who was senior member of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) junta, appeared in the Federal First Instance Arada Court in Addis Ababa yesterday.

He was first appeared in the court two weeks ago, a few days after being detained amid the law enforcement operation in Tigray region as police was granted 14 additional days by then for further investigation as per the request.

Police have confirmed that he was working as bridge in linking the armed group, OLF-Shane with the former president of Tigray regional state, Debretsion Gebremichael in providing financial and material support for the group.

Accordingly, the leadership of OLF-Shene were received their mission from Addisalem, one of the members of the TPLF junta around the office of Addis Ababa road transport.

Police also pointed out that Addisalem has also been deploying Oromia youth to create chaos and havoc in Addis Ababa and Oromia Regional State after training them in Tigray.

Moreover, various electronic accessories which were found at his home and in his hands also sent for further investigation, it was indicated.

Despite plenty of activities have been done, police has enquired the court for additional 14 days to complete the remaining tasks based on the complexity of the crime.

Considering all the circumstances, the court granted police 13 additional days for further investigation.

Addisalem Balema has served in a number of senior positions in the Tigray Regional State and in the federal government.
