Nation Secures over 18 bln Birr Revenue in May

Addis Ababa June 11/2020(ENA) Ministry of Revenue disclosed that it has collected some 18.35 billion Birr revenue during May 2020. 

In its statement, the Ministry pointed out that the single-month tax revenue is about 77.8 percent of its target, which was set collect 23.6 billion Birr in May.

Of the total revenue, 10.4 billion Birr was collected from domestic tax while the remaining 7.9 billion Birr from customs.

The revenue secured in a single-month increased by 20.15 percent as compared to the same period of the preceding fiscal year, it was indicated.

Over the last 11 months, the Ministry has collected 217.24 billion Birr, which is 89.42 percent of its yearly revenue for the concluding Ethiopian fiscal budget.

The revenue collected in 11 months increased by 38.79 billion Birr as compared to the same period last year, it was indicated.
