Ethiopia’s Covid-19 Cases Rise to 74

Addis ababa, April 13/2020(ENA)The number of coronavirus cases in Ethiopia increased to 74 after three people tested positive.

Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse told ENA that the three new patients are Ethiopian nationals with no travel history.

The new cases were confirmed from 247 samples tested in laboratories over the last 24 hours.

Two of those who tested positive are men residing in Addis Ababa but not yet confirmed whether they were in contacts with other coronavirus patients or not, the Minister said.

On the other hand, the Ministry has confirmed that the third case is a 23 years old woman who had contacts with COVID-19 patient and contact tracing is ongoing.

All of them were infected locally, she noted.

On the other hand, 4 people have been fully recovered from the virus which taking the total number to 14.

According to the Ministry of Health, so far some 4,110 samples have been conducted laboratory test for COVID-19 pandemic in Ethiopia.
