Door-to-Door Coronavirus Temperature Screening, School Feeding Program to Begin in Addis Ababa

Addis ababa, April 11/2020 (ENA )Addis Ababa Deputy Mayor Takele Uma announced that door-to-door Coronavirus temperature screening will be conducted beginning next week in all woredas of the city.

According to the deputy mayor, the temperature screening which begins in potentially vulnerable woredas will be carried out in 117 woredas of the capital city.  

The mayor stated that more than 1,200 retired physicians who responded to the call of the government are ready to jointly undertake the temperature screening with other health workers.

Takele further revealed that students will start classes from home in addition to the door-to-door temperature screening.

The disrupted school feeding programmed will also restart in the week, he added.

Students below seventh grade in the capital city are going to be taught through radio, while secondary school students above seventh grade will receive education through plasma.

A system that enables students and teachers to exchange information is already established, according to the deputy mayor.

Some 1,200 food banks with 30,000 volunteer youth will undertake the school feeding program, it was learned.
