Ethiopia Confirms One more COVID-19 Case

Addisababa, April 9/2020 (ENA)Ethiopia has confirmed today one more case of COVID-19, taking the total number to 56, according to Ministry of Health.

Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse told ENA that the new case was confirmed from 294 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The 43 years old Canadian, who tested positive, has a recent travel history from Canada to Dubai and entered to Ethiopia.

He has been in quarantine center in Addis Ababa.

So far 2,790 people have been tested for Covid-19 in Ethiopia, the ministry disclosed.

Out of the total cases, four people have reportedly recovered, two returned to their home country and two of them passed away.

Recently, 48 people are receiving treatment while two of them entered to intensive care unit.

The Council of Ministers on Wednesday declared a state of emergency as death from the corona virus outbreak rose to two.
