IGAD Extends Condolences over the Death of Two Ethiopians from COVID-19

ENA,April 6/2020 The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) extended condolences following the death of two Ethiopian citizens after contracting COVID-19 epidemics.

IGAD Executive Secretary, Workineh Gebeyehu, told ENA that joint efforts are being underway to trim down the impacts of coronavirus that face up to the Sub-region.

Based on the decision made between IGAD member states last week through virtual discussion, IGAD is carrying out activities to prevent the potential impact that the virus will be posing in the region, the secretary noted.

“I felt sorrow over the death of the two Ethiopians who lost their lives due to coronavirus” Workineh said adding that “the fatality occurred amid of efforts underway to curtail the impact.”
