Ethiopian Diaspora Contribute about 9 Mn Birr to Help Stop COVID-19

ENA,April 4/2020 The Ethiopians Diaspora have contributed about nine million Birr to support the effort underway to contain Coronavirus, according to the Office of the Prime Minister.

The Office Press Secretary, Nigusu Tilahun said serious damages could be inflicted where lax attitudes are witnessed in the fight against Coronavirus.

Appreciating the diaspora for their support, he noted that the donation made by Ethiopians living abroad and foreigners of Ethiopian origin so far will help the effort of the government to contain the virus.

Furthermore, the press secretary said individuals, organizations, and institutions are rendering support to reduce the negative effects of coronavirus.

Nigusu stressed that the enforcement of decisions passed with regard to the pandemic will to be strengthened to avoid the distraction.

He also pointed out that measures are being taken to stop violations of the law in religious institutions.
