Nation Confirms Three Additional COVID-19 Cases

Addis Ababa, April 4/2020 Ministry of Health has confirmed today three more COVID-19 cases, raising the total number of infected persons in the country to 38. 

Some 89 people were tested in the last 24 hours and three of them tested positive for coronavirus, the ministry said.

Health Minister Dr. Liya Tadese said all the three confirmed cases are Ethiopian nationals and they have travel history.

The first person is a 29-year-old man who returned from Dubai on March 19, 2020 and had contact with a person with the virus.

The second patient is also a 34-year-old who returned from Dubai on April 1, 2020 and had contact with a person with COVID-19.

The third patient is a 35-year-old woman who came from Sweden on April 3, the minister revealed.

All  the patients are under medical treatment in the designated centers.

Dr. Liya further stated that a total of four victims of the virus, including the 85 years old elderly woman, have recovered.

Out of the total 641 persons tested for the virus from Adama and Addis Ababa, 510 were negative and the rest are awaitng the results.
