Ethiopia, Rwanda Agree for Collective Leadership against COVID-19

ENA April 3/2020 Leaders of Ethiopia and Rwanda are desirous to reinforce a collective leadership to effectively address the emerging challenges from the spread of COVID-19.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Rwandan President, Paul Kagame have held a phone conversation today to discuss on ways of collective leadership in bid to contain the spread of coronavirus.

“I had series of phone conversations with my brother Paul Kagame on the collective leadership needed in these times to effectively address the challenges emerging from the spread of COVID-19,” Abiy twitted.

He noted that “Our collaborative efforts are key in responding to ensuing economic hurdles that Africa will be confronted with.”

With 84 confirmed COVID-19 positive cases, Rwanda has the highest recorded cases in the East Africa.

According to the latest data by the Africa Center for Disease Control on COVID-19 in Africa, now more than 6,700 confirmed cases of coronavirus recoded in 50 countries across the continent.
