PM Abiy Warns Perpetrators of Violence, Insecurity

Addis  Ababa  November  3/2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Sunday has warned those perpetrating national unity and insecurity in the country to restrain from their action or will face the full force of the law.

Abiy’s warning comes after recent violence attack that left 86 people dead and ruined several businesses in various areas the country.

He said that the government is ready to take necessary measures against perpetrators who involved in instigating violence.

The Prime Minister said in his press conference that “We should stop those forces who are trying pull us two steps back as we are moving a step forward to achieve our goals.”

The recent heinous act of violence in some parts of the country “knocked everyone’s door and the atrocious figures are shameful,” he said.

“The government has come to a decision for dialogue and education instead of using force, however, those who think patience is fear or altruism is weakness should know they are mistaken,” he added

The government will not shirk from its responsibility of protecting the people and their properties, Prime Minister Abiy said.

He warned that the government is zero tolerance for endangering the country’s unity and his government will take irreversible measures against anyone that endangers Ethiopia's peace and stability.
