House Speaker Tagesse Chafo Visiting UAE

Addis Ababa July 25/2011 Speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR), Tagesse Chafo, is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for official visit.

Upon his visit the House Speaker held talks with Speaker of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Federal National Council, Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi on multi-sectoral relations between the two countries.

Particularly, the two Speakers discussed on scaling up the bilateral relationship into high level, regional and global issues of mutual concern.

Amal Al Qubaisi appreciated the role of Ethiopia in bringing peace in neighboring countries.

She also praised Ethiopia’s contribution for the peace deal signed between the Sudanese Transitional Military Council and opposition groups.

Speaker Tagesse Chafo on his part said that Ethiopia is desirous to further improve the historical relations with the Middle East countries.

During his visit, Tagesse also met with officials of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the Emirates Red Crescent to discuss on the progress of cooperation works.
