PM Abiy Meets Foreign Ministers of Finland, South Korea

Addis Ababa ENA July 10/2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received Finnish and South Korean Foreign Ministers at his office today.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto discussed issues about bringing peace and stability in the region today.

The Finnish Foreign Minister appreciated Ethiopia’s effort in solving the problems that were lingering between the opposition and the Sudanese Military Council through effective mediation.

Stating the good friendship of Finland with Ethiopia, he said Finland has been supporting Ethiopia in education and entrepreneurship.

Haavisto stated that the reform would create economic prosperity for Ethiopians, if it continues as it is.

Finland tries to do its best in supporting the reform and the economic development of Ethiopia, he said.

In related news, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also met South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha.

They discussed about strengthening the long-standing relation between Ethiopia and South Korea.

They also explored ways of providing scholarship for Ethiopians in South Korea's institutions of higher learning and supporting Ethiopia in its modernization of the taxation system.

Foreign Minister Kyung-wha said the two countries are working to sustain peace and stability in their respective regions.
