President Urges CSOs to Integrate Efforts in Empowering Women

Addis  Ababa April  22/2019 President Sahlework Zewdie urged civil society organizations (CSOs) working in empowering women and gender equality to follow cooperative approach to achieve gender equality and women empowerment in the country.

President Sahlework Zewdie urged civil society organizations (CSOs) working in empowering women and gender equality to follow cooperative approach to achieve gender equality and women empowerment in the country.

During the panel discussion held today, the president said integrated and cooperative works of CSOs enhance the strength of the organizations to support and empower women at all levels.

CSOs have significant impact to bring gender equality in the country and they should take opportunities coming with the reform, she added.

Sahlework stated that the office of the president will work with Ministry of Women, Children and Youth as well as civil society organizations to support the nongovernmental organizations that empower women in political, social and economic affairs.

The panel concluded by agreeing to work in an integrative approach.
