Projects Launched to Improve Food Safety

Addis Ababa February 15/2019 Research projects that are designed to improve food safety in Ethiopia were launched yesterday.

The six-million-USD projects will be giving training to selected target population on ways of ensuring food safety, and the outcome will be used by policy makers.

The study will focus on semi-commercial value chains, it was learned.

The four projects are expected to be completed within four years.

Ensure-Diary, Tartare, Pull Push, and Focal are the four food safety projects that will be led by Addis Ababa University, Ohio State University, International Livestock and Research Institute, and Technical University of Denmark, respectively.

The projects are funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and UK Department for International Development.
