PM Abiy Confers with WFP Chief

Addis Ababa January 21/2019 Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met World Food Program (WFP) Executive Director David Beasley in Italy today, Office of the Prime Minister reported.

They discussed on issues related to WFP development assistance for Ethiopia, according to Office of the Prime Minster.

Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed acknowledged that WFP has been actively supporting Ethiopia's food security programs, nutritional support and capacity building in the country's development efforts.

Executive Director, David Beasley, on his part said WFP will strengthen its support and commitment to Ethiopia’s development endeavors.

World Food Program is one of the major development partners supporting Ethiopia in eliminating poverty.

Premier Abiy arrived in Rome, Italy on Sunday for a state visit.

Upon arrival, he was warmly welcomed by members of the Ethiopian community in Rome, where he will be holding key bi-lateral discussions with development partners.
