Addis Ababa January 18/ 2019 Ethiopia, to ensure peace and stability, will vigorously continue its diplomatic conciliatory role in the region, Foreign Minister Workeneh Gebeyehu said.

In concluding the five-day discussion with Ethiopian diplomatic core from across the world today, Workeneh said “our foreign policy should focus on cooperation with all the neighboring countries.”

“We will keep on maximizing our efforts to normalize the relationship between Eritrea and Djibouti and Eritrea and the Sudan,” he pointed out.

Furthermore, Workineh stated that the government is working on strengthening the relationship with Eritrea in an institutionalized way.

Speaking of Ethiopia’s relations with the Middle East countries, Workeneh stressed “we will pursue our neutral stance without compromising our national interest.”

Noting that significant motivation has recently been created within the Ethiopian diasporas, he urged the diplomats to exert their utmost effort to unleash the untapped potential of the over 3 million Ethiopian Diasporas.

To do that, he said embassies and consulates across the world should start the digital diplomacy to reach out and make most out of it.
