Ethiopian to make Additional Flights to Mombasa

Addis Ababa May 22/2018  Ethiopian is to conduct extra two flights to Mombasa weekly in addition to the regular daily flights it makes to Nairobi, Kenya. During a visit to Kenya early this month, Premier Abiy Ahmed and President Uhuru Kenyatta have reached several cooperation accords, including the Kenyan side to grant Ethiopian Airlines a second frequency flight to Mombasa. Accordingly, the additional flights to Mombasa will effectively commence on May 24, 2018. Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its press release dispatched to ENA also indicated that pursuant to the request made by Prime Minister Abiy during his official visit to Kenya, Ethiopians detained in Kenya for various reasons will be released soon. The release noted that travel documents are being processed in cooperation between Ethiopian Embassy in Nairobi and Kenyan immigration authorities. Soon after the documents are processed, the Ethiopians are expected to repatriate turn back home. More than 2,500 Ethiopians detained in Sudan and Saudi Arabia have so far been released from detention centers in both countries.
