Police Detains ex-Deputy Intelligence Chief

Addis Ababa November 15/2018 Police arrested ex-Deputy Head of the National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) and former commissioner General of the Federal Police over human right abuses and corruption on Wednesday. According to a statement from the Federal Attorney General, police continues arresting dozens suspected of rights abuses and corruption. Police pursues a crackdown on those suspected of cooruption and human right violations following the ongoing sweeping reform led by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. So far over 60 officials have been taken into custody. In  a related development, police have also arrested Head of Security Division at Ethio Telecom, Colonel Gudeta Olana today.
