Int'l Community Shouldn’t Be Confused by Fabricated Lies of TPLF: Political Party Leader

Addis Ababa November 5/2021 (ENA) The international community should not be confused by the fabricated lies and propaganda of the terrorist TPLF group and its cliques, competing political party leader urged.

It is to be recalled that the false allegations made on the government of Ethiopia by the terrorist TPLF, its media allies and some members of the international community about the current crisis in Tigray have been proven wrong by the joint international investigation team (JIT) of the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) and the UN Human Rights Office.   

Particularly, the JIT report disproved the accusations of genocide and the use of ‘starvation as weapon of war’ in Tigray regional state of Ethiopia.

Observers are indicating that the findings of this international investigation by itself demonstrates the fact that TPLF and its media allies in the west are engaged in disinformation to mislead the international community about the current situation in Ethiopia.

Speaking to ENA, Amhara Democratic Force Movement Leader, Tesfahun Alemneh said some members of the international community have been confused with the fabricated lies being consistently disseminated by the terrorist TPLF group and its cliques.

The international community should make attempt to understand the reality on the ground about the heinous acts of the terrorist TPLF, he urged.

The bold reality on the ground clearly demonstrates the true nature of the group that has been engaged in a number of monstrous activities by rejecting calls for peace.  

Despite government’s humanitarian ceasefire, the group has continued with its atrocities by killing civilians, displace hundreds of thousands and rape women in addition to its looting of properties and destruction of infrastructures in Amhara and Afar regions of Ethiopia, Tesfahun stated.

Hence, he urged the international community to make efforts to genuinely understand these realities instead of just accepting the fabricated lies of the group to unwarrantedly pressurize the government of Ethiopia.

The Party leader has also called on the international community to strongly condemn the cruel act of the terrorist TPLF group being committed on the innocent people in Amhara and Afar.

He further stressed the need to intensify diplomatic efforts by the government of Ethiopia in order to expose the evil acts of TPLF and its allies to the international community.

Ethiopia has to reassess its diplomatic relation with the rest of the world including regional and international bodies with a view to effectively and efficiently ensure the national interest of the country, he added.

In this regard, Tesfahun underlined the need to work closely with regional and international bodies like the Inter-Governmental Authority for Development (IGAD), the African Union (AU) and other international organizations in the effort to expose the destructive acts and atrocities being committed by the invading force of terrorist TPLF group.

Ethiopia in its history has survived many troubles and attained remarkable diplomatic achievements, he indicated, adding that “the country needs to exploit its long standing experience in the diplomatic sector taking international institutions as a tool to expose TPLF tragedies and fabricated lies, and enhance awareness of international community about realities on the ground instead.”
