Ethiopia Has Wisdom to Resolve Internal Affairs, No Need of Interference: Ambassador Morgan

Addis Ababa November 5/2021 /ENA/ Ethiopia has the wisdom to resolve its internal affairs by itself and without foreign interference, Ambassador James P. Morgan of South Sudan said.

Recalling that Ethiopia was a founding member of the League of Nations and the leading and founding member of OAU, Ambassador Morgan added that “Ethiopia has got experience. It ,therefore, has wisdom to resolve its internal matter by itself. There is no need of any foreign interference in Ethiopia’s internal affairs.”

In an exclusive interview with ENA, he further stated that as a good neighbour South Sudan is willing to help if invited.  

“Ethiopia has participated almost all over the world in peacekeeping. It has got enough experience to resolve its own problems. So there is no need of interference. We do not support any foreign interference in the internal matter of Ethiopia,” the ambassador noted.   

Acording to him, Ethiopia has always stood with the people of South Sudan. “Hence we feel concerned whenever there is problem in Ethiopia because it’s also one of our second homes. We feel here that it’s our own home. When our home is having problems we are not happy about it.”

Ambassador Morgan pointed out that if there are problems in Ethiopia they affect South Sudan. That is why South Sudan insists all the times that peace must prevail in this region.  

Furthermore, he recalled that the South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit was attended the inauguration ceremony of the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for his last month.

Following the successful elections Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed won, what Ethiopia needs in this country is peace, he said, adding that “Ethiopia is one of the countries in this continent that has never been colonized and all the eyes of Africa are here to make sure that Ethiopia gets into  peace.”

Ambassador Morgan further stressed that there are many things like regional integration that Ethiopia should lead in the Horn of Africa.  

“There is no country that can lead this integration rather than Ethiopia itself. And for that matter, we really need peace here.”
