Ethiopian Launched Zaragoza, Miami, Bogota Cargo Service

Addis Ababa August 31/2018 Ethiopian Airlines have launched the first of its two weekly freighter service to Bogota, Colombia on Wednesday. The cargo service, which uses the B777 Freigther, departs from Zaragoza (Spain) and fly to Bogota with a stopover in Miami. Accordingly the flag carrier EAL commenced to operate a twice-weekly freighter connection between Addis Ababa and Miami, creating the first-ever cargo-only route between the African continent and the Florida gateway. Speaking on the landmark cargo flight Ethiopian Group CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam said “we are very pleased to see Zaragoza, Miami and Bogota joining our fast expanding freighter network in the Americas.” He added that with the new service, Ethiopian will carry Indiex high-end textile products from Zaragoza to the Americas. “In line with our strategic road map, Vision 2025, we will keep on expanding our cargo destinations worldwide, thereby facilitating trade and economic growth among different regions of the world,” the CEO pointed out. Ethiopian Cargo and Logistics Services currently serves over 44 international destinations in Africa, the Gulf, Middle East, Asia, the Americas and Europe, and boosts the largest transshipment terminal in Africa and one of the biggest ten in the world with an annual capacity of about 1 million tons. Ethiopian is the largest Aviation Group in Africa and SKYTRAX certified Four Star Global Airline.
