Designation of Tigray’s New Cabinet Based on Competence: Interim Admin CEO

Addis Ababa, December 25/2020( ENA) The appointment of the new cabinet is based competence, free of corruption and public acceptance, CEO of the Interim Administration of Tigray Regional State, Dr. Mulu Nega said. 

Briefing journalists on Thursday, Dr. Mulu said out of the 16 cabinet members to be appointed in the region, 11 of them have so far been appointed and officially started their job.  

The appointment has included members of competing political parties, Mulu said, adding the recent appointment of zonal administrators have also brought remarkable results in respective zones of the region.

Understanding the role of Interim Administration, the public has been on electing the leaders through public discussions at all levels, he pointed out.

With the efforts of restoring destroyed infrastructures, the CEO stated that many areas of the region are getting electric power, water and telecommunication services.

Saying that the restoration effort of the destroyed infrastructures has been continuing, he said and the remaining areas of the region will get services soon.

The CEO explained that effort of restructuring the police force has begun to restore peace and stability in the region, particularly reorganizing police members of the city of Mekelle is encouraging.
