President Salva Kiir, Riek Machar Meet Face-to-face in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa June 21, 2018 South Sudanese warring parties President Salva Kiir Mayardit and Riek Machar the leader of South Sudan’s SPLM/IO have met face-to-face in Addis Ababa yesterday. Prime minister  Abiy Ahmed met with Kiir and Machar separately ahead of the leader's face-to-face meeting for the first time in almost two years. The two leaders met under the mediation of PM Abiy at his office before the IGAD Summit, which is expected to deliberate on the outcomes of the year long process of the High Level Revitalization Process on South Sudan, it was learned. Ethiopia, alongside IGAD has been exerting utmost efforts to end the crisis of the youngest East African nation. The South Sudanese civil war is an ongoing conflict in South Sudan between forces of the government and opposition forces.
