NNP Day Participants Stress Need to Cherish Harmony in Diversity

Addis Ababa December 08/2018 Participants of the celebration of the 13th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Day have emphasized on the need to cherish the culture of living in peace and harmony.

In an exclusive interview with ENA, participants of the colorful celebration that took place at the Addis Ababa stadium have expressed their delight over the beauty, diversity and harmony they witnessed on the occasion.

Member of the Ethiopian Diaspora in Germany, Adanech Ligaba said the people should be united and become ambitious to build Ethiopia.

“I believe in unity and we need to change history by standing together with love,” she noted.

Adanech emphasized on the need of sharing responsibility to make the country prosperous.

The harmony witnessed in the celebration needs to be seen on the ground, she stated.

Fitawrary Million Biru, an elderly guest to the celebration, said “this day is what we have dreamt for long. It is, therefore, a great achievement for unity.”

He added that every individual is responsible to keep peace and “we should be proud of everyone who gave their lives to keep the country united.”

The young participant, Seid Arebu said “this day is unique as it takes place when reform is underway and people are challenged with various internal problems.”

He noted that the people have to be conscious and think of the country which is above the challenges they are facing.
