Ethiopia, EU Keen to Strengthen Cooperation

Addis Ababa October 08/2018 Ethiopia and European Union (EU) have agreed to cement mutual cooperation, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Finance Minister, Ahmed Shide, conferred with a delegation from the European Union (EU) on Wednesday.

The two sides conducted a fruitful discussion on the longstanding cooperation between Ethiopia and the Union, the ministry said.

The delegation was led by Acting Director of the European Commission for International Development Cooperation (DEVCO), Hans STAUSBOLL, it was indicated.

The European Union is a reliable development partner to Ethiopia which supports its efforts to eradicate poverty, to foster inclusive and sustainable economic, social and environmental development.

It is to be recalled that development aid further contributes to increased cooperation and dialogue in the main areas of mutual interest, as identified in the EU-Ethiopia strategic engagement.

In this regard, the two parties also agreed to further strengthen their exemplary cooperation.
