Addis Ababa October 16/2018 President Borut Pahor of Slovenia has visited St.Selassie church, the highest ranking Orthodox cathedral in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Ethiopian National Museum today.
President Borut Pahor, who visited Ethiopia for three days, have had a discussion with President Mulatu Teshome to open a new chapter in their diplomatic relations.
After he have conferred with President Mulatu Teshome at the National Palace yesterday, President Pahor paid visit to Holy Trinity Cathedral and Ethiopian National Museum early this morning.
Slovenia is situated in southern Central Europe and was part of the former Yugoslavia since 1991. The country had no diplomatic relations with Ethiopia.
However, Slovenia has been looking for possibilities to open its embassy in Addis Ababa, said President Pahor.
He added the current political aspiration of Ethiopia attracts Slovenia to engage in spheres of trade and investment.
As part of this new diplomatic engagement, President Pahor has invited President Mulatu Teshome to pay an official visit to Slovenia, it was confirmed.
