Addis Ababa September 13/2018 First Lady Zenash Tayahcew and Regional Education Bureau Heads of Oromia and Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples (SNNP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build five high schools.
During the signing of the MoU, First Lady Zenash said many students are learning under difficult conditions and others are unable to get education. The schools will alleviate this problem, she added.
She further noted that the participation of investors in the country and abroad will make this project a success and help to build additional schools.
Zenash stressed that female students are in particular forced to learn under dangerous conditions that forces them to drop out of school.
Oromia Region Education Bureau Tola Beresa said the region was unable to build high schools as planed due to budget constraints; and said this support will help many to attend school.
Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Bureau Head Eshetu Kebede said on his part that the construction is a big contribution to the expansion of schools in zones.
Out of the five high schools, three will be built in Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region and the remaining two in Oromia.
